Essays include an introduction that describes the geographical and geological features of the state/province, information on how global climate change could affect the state/province and its inhabitants, information on natural resources, energy, Green Economy, Green Jobs, and Green Building, and a special section that covers a major environmental topic in each state/province.
This work provides a snapshot of environmental initiatives and resource utilization. Along with essays specific to each state or province, there are two overview essays: one explores environmental issues in the U.S., and the other in Canada. In addition, this volume contains color photographs, a glossary of terms, a chronology of salient events and regulations, a list of major environmental organizations, a general bibliography, and an index. Individual state (and province) entries explore current environmental issues and give some idea on future direction.
