15-oz. can beef broth
Optional: ½ c. red wine
1.35-oz. pkg. onion soup mix
1 onion, thinly sliced
4 beef cube steaks
pepper to taste
10-3/4 oz. can cream of onion soup
In a skillet over medium heat, combine broth, wine, if using, and soup; mix well. Add onion and steaks; sprinkle with pepper to taste. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Turn steaks over; cover and simmer for an additional 30 minutes. Remove steaks to a plate; stir soup into mixture in skillet. Return steaks to skillet, being sure to coat each steak with gravy.
